Brake Laws

ShoreLand’r is the first major trailer manufacturer to have brakes standard on all trailers with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) at 3000 lb. and above. We did our homework, and it’s not only the law for you to equip your trailer with brakes at this weight, but – most importantly – it’s the safest thing to do for your family and you! For your protection, contact your local department of motor vehicles to ensure your trailer is street legal for your state!

Tongue Weight

Tongue weight is the amount of weight placed on your vehicles hitch-ball by the tongue of the trailer. Too little tongue weight can result in swaying at highway speeds; too much tongue weight can mean uncontrolled pushing of your tow vehicle. In most cases, the tongue weight can be altered by your ShoreLand’r dealer through an adjustment of your axle for or aft.

The “NMMA Certified” decal is your guarantee that every ShoreLand’r is built to meet or exceed the National Marine Manufacturer’s Association safety and quality standards. Don’t settle for less!
